Paper Title: Frontrunning in Crypto and NFT Trading on DeFi Exchanges

Paper Abstract: Blockchains and smart contracts promised to create fair and transparent trading on decentralized finance (DeFi) exchanges. However, widespread deployment of arbitrage bots on DeFi exchanges exploits users' trades in a phenomenon called maximium extractable value (MEV), with often devastating financial consequences for individual traders. We describe MEV and solutions to mitigate its impact and protect individual traders/investors as well as exchange operators.
