Paper Title: What's New in NVMe Technology: Ratified Technical Proposals

Paper Abstract: To facilitate the development of the refactored NVMe 2.0 family of specifications, the public release of several NVMe, NVMe-oF, and NVMe-MI technical proposals (TPs) were delayed but were recently published publicly. In this presentation, attendees will learn about those new TP's contained in the NVMe 2.0 specifications and new TP's not contained in the NVMe 2.0 specifications since its publishing. Included in the presentation is Domains and Partitions, Copy Command, Protection Information Enhancement, Disperse Namespaces, Centralized Discovery Controllers, Zone Random Write Area and more. Join us to find out how these new features will aid NVMe technology development and propel us into the future of storage.

Author Bio: Mike Allison is a Sr. Director in the Samsung DSA Product Planning and Business Enablement team focusing on standards for existing and future products. He has been a participating member of NVM Express® since 2016, co-author of many technical proposals, author of several ECNs, and the principle editor for NVM Express Base Specification 1.4 initial release. For over 37 years, Mike has been an embedded firmware engineer and architect working on systems and simulations for laser beam recorders, fighter aircraft, graphics cards, high end servers, and is now focusing on Solid State Drives. He holds 30 patents in graphics, servers, and storage. He has earned a BSEE/CS at University of Colorado, Boulder.
