Paper Title: Optimizing QoS for Enterprise Storage with SSD Performance Shaping

Paper Abstract: Performance shaping is a unified mechanism to shape read/write IO or read/write throughput per user defined QoS group. Each QoS group can subscribe a fixed number of performance credits for read or write IOPS and/or for read or write throughput GB/S). The shaping engine keeps monitoring ongoing IO and/or throughput for each QoS group ensuring the average performance achieves subscribed performance at certain user defined execution levels. In this talk, we focus on the implementation of the performance shaping engine which includes both firmware and hardware accelerators.
