Paper Title: Harnessing MCU to Deliver SSD Power Management and Power Loss Protection

Paper Abstract: Abstract: Microcontroller Unit (MCU) based design delivers enhanced power management and power loss protection capabilities in SATA and NVMe SSDs. By combining hardware and firmware solutions, the MCU-based design safeguards data as well as the storage device for higher levels of integrity and reliability. Enhanced features may be customized, allowing PLP capabilities to be tailor-fitted according to unique requirements, application-specific needs or use cases. Other features such as inrush current suppression, power noise de-glitch, fast and precise control of power on/off sequence, etc., may enhance the reliability of SSDs. In conjunction with wide temperature testing and validation, high robustness requirements of industrial mission-critical applications may be achieved.
