SECR-202-2: Security Topics (Security and Cryptography Track)
Paper Title: New Cybersecurity Regulations Require Innovative Memory Solutions

Paper Abstract: New Cybersecurity regulations are being mandated by governments along with new certification requirements. This trend is also affecting connected devices which include SoCs as well as external memories. Embedded applications have increased in complexity. MCUs and SoCs are being required to use more external NV memory. While external memory provides the possibility to run large applications, how do you protect your code and data in external memory during the boot process and OTA firmware updates. In this presentation, we are showing how Certified Secure Flash can also provide root of trust, secure storage and resilience by protecting, detecting and recovering the connected platform firmware.
