OMEM-102-2: New/Emerging Memories Part 1 (Other Memory Technologies Track)
Paper Title: Technology Insights: Emerging Memory 2022 and Beyond

Paper Abstract: Regarding the emerging memory (EM) devices including STT (or SOT)-MRAM, XPoint, PCRAM, ReRAM, and FeRAM, many of the memory chip makers and foundries are eager to develop advanced sub-20nm embedded or standalone EM devices for higher speed and lower power with unlimited retention/endurance operation. Although EM technologies offer promises of performance, reliability, and cost advantages over conventional commodity memory devices such as DRAM, SRAM, NAND, and NOR FLASH, do you really think EM would replace conventional memory sometime in the future? Do they have limitations in process and device integration? Recent emerging memory technology and products details, comparisons, and challenges will be discussed.
