Paper Title: NVMe Technology in the Real World

Paper Abstract: This presentation will discuss the real world capabilities of the NVMe™ 1.4 and NVMe-oF™ 1.1 specifications. Attendees will learn about the applications Facebook's hyperscale data center uses, and how they benefit from NVMe features in deploying at scale. Attendees will also learn from HPE on how NVMe over Fabrics is evolving to redefine next generation SAN and the key fabric requirements to enable this new frontier.

Author Bio: Ross Stenfort is a Hardware System Engineer at Facebook working on storage. He has been involved in development of SSDs, ROCs, HBAs and HDDs. He has over 40 granted patents. He has had extensive storage experience in both large and small companies including CNEX, Seagate, LSI, SandForce, SiliconStor and Adaptec. He has a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Author 2 Bio: Rupin Mohan is a Director of R&D and Chief Technologist of Storage Networking (SAN) at HPE Storage. Rupin leads a global engineering and product management teams responsible for development of Storage Networking products. Rupin has filed for 30+ patents at HPE. He is a Board Member of and Marketing Chairman for FCIA. Rupin completed his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management as a Sloan Fellow. He also holds a MS in Engineering from Tufts University and BE in Computer Engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology.
