Author Bio: Mark Mokryn is VP Product at Pliops, a developer of storage processors. He is responsible for the company’s product strategy, product definition, new product ideas, roadmap creation, and product management. He also presents at technical conferences and writes technical white papers. He has over 20 years experience in the storage industry, including positions or consulting work at Lightbits Labs, EMC, Broadcom, and Marvell. He has extensive experience with ARM SoCs and servers, storage infrastructures, and advanced storage solutions for Hadoop and MongoDB. He earned MSEE and MBA degrees from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) and a BSEE from the University of Pennsylvania.

Author 2 Bio: Edward Bortnikov is VP Technology at Pliops, a developer of storage processors. He is responsible for the company’s approaches to data acceleration and oversees research and architecture of next generation products. He has 20 years of experience in software engineering, distributed computing, databases, machine learning, search, storage, and networking systems. Before joining Pliops, Edward was Sr. Director of Research at Yahoo!, where he led the Scalable Systems research group. He has also been a Research Staff Member at IBM. He earned his PhD in electrical engineering from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology).
