SSDS-102-1: Enterprise SSDs (SSDs Track)
Paper Title: The New Storage Tier between High-Performance SSDs and HDDs

Paper Abstract: The introduction of QLC NAND was less about replacing TLC SSDs and more about displacing high-performance HDDs in the storage market. The first SLC SSDs created a new storage tier between HDDs and DRAM and now QLC bifurcates that again with a warm data tier between high-performance TLC SSDs and capacity-focused HDDs. The true cost delta between QLC SSDs and high-performance HDDs has reached a new plateau that will more quickly displace these one-time storage icons. This presentation will dive deeply into that new tier, which is critical for today's exponentially growing performance sensitive workloads.
