ENST-102B-1: Application Acceleration (Enterprise Storage Track)
Paper Title: Applications Demanding Accelerated Disaggregated Storage

Paper Abstract: New applications like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and semantic relationships are driving the demand for rapid access to vast quantities of storage that is both high scalable and extremely performant. These applications require gargantuan amounts of data, and rapid access to this data make these applications viable. This session explores the growing trend toward user level networking by cloud providers and how this technology is now being applied to storage and the impact it will have on these emerging applications.

Paper Author: Scott Schweitzer, Sr. Manager, Marcom DCG, Xilinx

Author Bio: Scott has been a lifelong technology evangelist. He's written profitable software products, built hardware and formally managed programs at IBM, NEC, and now Solarflare. For the past several years Scott has been working with the team at Solarflare to bring a new security product to market which debuted earlier this month. Recently, he also formed a new group to drive the testing of Solarflare’s Cloud Onload technology, they are seeking to determine the performance gains that can be achieved through kernel bypass for cloudy applications.
