Paper Abstract: Just as GPU cards revolutionized graphics and AI, SmartNICs are now providing higher performance benefits at a lower TCO. This is enabling new levels of Datacenter efficiencies and scalability. Offloading storage system software such as NVMe Fabrics, Initiator Agents, and Target Storage Processing E2E is now possible. This presentation shows the community/industry how the combination of SmartNICs and High Performance NVMe SSDs and SoC Storage Software can be used to build powerful, scalable and efficient datacenter storage systems for applications requiring market leading performance at the lowest latency.

Author Bio: Ron Herrmann has been one of the pioneers in helping Customers use NVMeoF solutions. Ron has been Director of Systems Engineering at E8 Storage for almost 4 years, and has worked with many Customers that are using NVMeoF. Mr Herrmann also spend several years working at IBM on the TMS/Flashsystem product and the Diligent deduplication system. Ron was also an IT Director for several years and has also been with several other successful start-ups.
