ENST-202B-1: Flash in Cloud Computing (Enterprise Storage Track)
Paper Title: 2019: The Year of NVMe

Paper Abstract: Accelerating time to insights is the new currency and lifeline for enterprises. Success requires you to take advantage of the latest high-performance storage constructs flash memory, NVMe, and fast data storage to eliminate bottlenecks, management complexity and high costs of traditional storage solutions. NVMe enables higher performance all-flash arrays (AFAs) with the requisite enterprise-class management and high efficiency for cost-effective on-premises storage. Considerations for today's enterprises include: How CIOs are using NVMe All-Flash storage to accelerate fast data and multi-site DR, and support mission-critical apps; How flash storage helps consolidate multiple tiers of storage to save on power, cooling, and rack space at a lower total cost (Forrester Total Economic Impact Study); How open composable infrastructures, based on NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) is taking the evolution of storage further, enabling the disaggregation of resources (including disk, flash, compute and network) into scalable pools on a single fabric for on-the-fly provisioning, so you can accelerate apps, increase utilization and save up to 40% TCO compared to traditional infrastructures.
