SECU-102A-1: Plugging Holes in Storage Security (Security Track)
Paper Title: Advanced Countermeasures: Integrating SSDs Into Cyber-Security Defense

Paper Abstract: Data theft is seldom discussed, but businesses struggle to respond in a timely manner. The number of attack vectors are on the rise and attackers are constantly updating their tradecraft. Files are leaked through email, screens are photographed, drives are copied and passwords are stolen. We will discuss real data theft cases. We will also show how system-level AI-driven pattern detectors can identify unusual events and trigger protective behavior. We will show baseline SSD IO compared to real attack profiles. By integrating the SSD into the detection network, we ensure that the OS cannot be bypassed through side-load attacks.
