TEST-201-1: Testing/Performance Analysis (Testing Track)
Paper Title: Optimal Flash Storage Solutions for Applications Requiring Frequent Writes

Paper Abstract: Many flash storage solutions assume relatively few writes as is true of database applications. However, some applications, such as cloud computing and surveillance services, require frequent writes, often described in terms of large drive writes per day (DWPD). They currently require expensive, highly reliable SSDs with long lifetimes. A new solution achieves high DWPD at a lower price point by improving system durability and read/write performance. It includes an improved method for handling power loss efficiently without suffering data corruption from partially completed write operations. Test data shows a significant improvement in DWPD over a wide range of application profiles.
