Paper Title: The Role of Smart SSDs in the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)

Paper Abstract: Both the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) have come to the forefront in recent years. The logical next step is to combine them in the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), a conglomeration of devices that not only collect data and communicate but also have local intelligence. What kind of storage do such devices require? Surely it must be fast, small, high-capacity, and power-efficient, just what we get by applying the latest flash technologies, form factors, and connections. Case studies illustrate how current flash memory innovations find a ready home in a wide range of AIoT applications, including smart cities and smart automated factories.
