Paper Title: Scaling IP Video CDN with All-Flash

Paper Abstract: Most off-the-shelf video Content Delivery as-a-service offerings are general purpose file-based service-provider delivery platforms, which are struggling under the avalanche of data resulting from bandwidth-intensive services and streaming applications. Smart cities, smart homes, autonomous vehicles/drones, and next generation applications utilizing artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning are requiring an architecture that provides optimized solutions for both regional data centers, and for pushing content out to the edge, which is instrumental for providing better customer experiences when viewing high-quality streaming video. The solution incorporates a single-purpose CDN tailored to the delivery of segmented video files which offers better performance, reliability, and scale. An off-the-shelf server with all-flash SSDs and open-source software, was the key enabler.
