Paper Title: Why NV Storage in Automobiles Must Employ Industry Standard Hardware Encryption

Paper Abstract: Why NV Storage in Automobiles Must Employ Industry Standard Hardware Encryption Robert Thibadeau, Ph.D. Chairman and CEO www.drivetrust.com I will make the case that the storage device industry should communicate the advantages of Self-Encrypting Storage throughout all NV storage in the automotive industry to the Automotive OEMs and Tier 1-2 Suppliers (SAE). Currently the Automotive Industry is largely unaware of the engineering and business reasoning behind this statement. As long as they are unaware, they cannot make logical and strategically intelligent decisions on trade offs in terms of their requirements. Dr. Thibadeau will make the case in two slides that can be publicly shared.
