FTEC-202-1: 3D Flash (Flash Technology Track Track)
Organizer + Chairperson: Shawn Adams, Product Marketing Manager, Micron

Paper Title: A Graphical Journey into 3D NAND Operations

Paper Abstract: 3D NAND is much more complex than previous 2D versions. Designers need insight into how operations are implemented to choose among options and to evaluate methods based on such factors as number of bit errors introduced and behavior in case of power failure. Also 3D technologies from different vendors will behave quite differently. An animated graphical approach provides insight into 3D programming and erase operations, helping designers make the best choices for their applications and requirements.

Paper Author: Vic Ye, Flash Analysis Manager, YeeStor

Author Bio: Vic Ye is Manager of the Flash Analysis Team at YeeStor, a developer of memory chips and storage controllers (formerly SiliconGo Microelectronics). His team has established a set of NAND flash analytical methods, and has focused on defining new characteristics for 3D NAND. He has also been an SSD product manager at SiliconGo, and an IC design engineer at Huawei. He earned a master’s degree in microelectronics at Tianjing University (China).
