NVMF-301-1: Exploring NVMe-oF Designs, Architectures, and Acceleration Options (NVMe-over-Fabrics (NVMe-oF) Track Track)
Organizer + Chairperson: John Kim, Director Storage Marketing, Mellanox

Paper Title: Developing Powerful JBOFs with NVMe-oF

Paper Abstract: The NVMe-oF protocol enables systems to use distant NVMe SSDs as if they were locally attached with almost no overhead. The development of a JBoF offering native NVMe-oF connectivity enables designers to disaggregate NVMe SSDs from storage services nodes. However, designing an NVMe-oF-based JBOF involves making many tradeoffs depending on specific requirements for density, cost, data availability, management, or performance. Storage architects can save time and get better results by leveraging a smart controller that offers many options and can respond to needs automatically.
