Paper Title: Using SmartNICs to Achieve the Promise of ChatGPT
Paper Abstract: OpenAI Has ChatGPT has taken the world by storm, making it the fastest growing app in the Internet’s history. Every industry, every institution, and every organization sees its use as a way to reduce costs, increase output quality, and save time. Generative AI applications, such as ChatGPT, will undoubtedly create growth opportunities for thousands of companies and millions of people. However, to realize their benefits, users must have a huge computer infrastructure able to process enormous datasets and train large AI models. SmartNICs can help make this possible. They can both accelerate cloud data centers to do more, and reduce network overhead involved in transferring data and results to and from clouds. The required infrastructure will become even greater as ChatGPT and other generative AI technologies and services integrate more broadly into enterprise and consumer internet applications.
