Author Bio: Baron Fung is Research Director at Dell’Oro Group, where he covers Ethernet adapters, SmartNICs, and data center IT capex. He built and launched the SmartNIC coverage and has expanded coverage of data center infrastructure with an emphasis on cloud service provider capex, server technology, and vendor trends. Widely regarded as a leading Ethernet analyst, Mr. Fung’s work has been cited in such leading business and technology publications as Barron’s, Fierce Telecom, The Wall Street Journal, and Investor’s Business Daily. He has also been an invited speaker at investor conferences and industry events such as ONUG and Data Center Dynamics. Before joining Dell’Oro Group, Mr. Fung worked for Microlease, a test and measurement supplier, Kyocera, and Motorola. He earned an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in Marketing Strategy from the University of California, Berkeley.
